During warm and sunny day some time ago I was lucky
enough to turn up in Rewa with Wanda. It is a village famous for about 1
km long spit. Getting from Gdynia to this place takes about 30 min by
bus so it is shame on me, that during 3 years I was there only once.
When we got off the bus village was almost empty, only sometimes we met somebody. Firstly we went to ordinary beach where I saw for the very first time stones on a Polish shore. Before I had visited only sandy beaches.
On this shore we also found nice boat which became our inspiration to take photos. :)
When we finally saw the spite it turned out that it all is at our disposal – nobody was walking there! And
this spit was longer than I had ever thought!
Despite the fact that I
felt really cold, because it was so windy, I decided to go to the end of
this “sandy snake”. And I did it! ;) On the way we just met a
fisherman who in pursuit of fish was once on the one side of spit and
twice on another.
At the end of our way we could watch how waterfalls from one side clash with another waterfalls.
Standing in the end of spit was a nice feeling - so far of the shore… between waterfalls…
During our way back I enjoyed finding funny stones
with attached seaweed! Depends on at which angle I took photo of stones
looking like an onion, a head with hair, an octopus or a comet.
Rippled water also caught my attention. :)
In Rewa there is also the Sea Cross near which drowned people were buried in
the past. During WW2 cross was destroyed, then rebuilt and in 2004
Alley of People Meritorious for Sea (Aleja Zasłużonych Ludzi Morza) was
built next to it.
No, it isn’t strange, that for me a spade is an inspiration… :)
Spit visible sideways.
Rewa is located in Kashubian region – area in which
Polish ethnic group – Kashubians live. They have their own language
different from Polish. That’s why we found pub witch two signs: one in
Polish “Smaczne jadło” which means “Scrumptious Food” and anotherone in
Kashubian which means something like “ hut by spit” but I’m not sure. :)
Rewa is known as good place to go windsurfing and kite surfing, so usually in summer there is a lot of tourists. We saw just one person on the water and a few more on land doing some exercises. :)
As I told there was only one person on water doing
sport, but there were also several mysterious boats which were on the
water, but nobody was inside them. Firstly I thought that those boats
are decorations in order to make nice atmosphere of fishermen’s village.
After few minutes of thinking I was almost sure that this is protection
against theft. And just when we went along short pier we realized that
it was really shallow there. So fishermen can just walk to their boats. :)
Apart from spit and mysterious boats in Rewa there
was also one another characteristic thing – chapels next to the houses.
Not numerous, only few, but I liked them so much!
And at the end a man with a nice blue cap.
And crooked trees in Rewa. :)
